New Developments at Jurys
Following the recent sale of their Jurys Inn chain, the remaining four UK hotels in the Jurys Doyle Group are undergoing a major refurbishment and a possible rebranding. Of the three London hotels, the first to benefit from the investment is Jurys Clifton Ford Hotel & Health Club on Welbeck Street, which has just unveiled nine brand new meeting rooms, a business centre and a brand new restaurant – 108 Marylebone Lane. The refurbishment of all 255 bedrooms and suites will be completed early 2008.
Plans for Jurys Kensington Hotel include a possible extra floor of bedrooms, at the same time structurally extending the existing bedrooms. If the development is approved the hotel will close for the building work to be carried out. Plans for Jurys Great Russell Street Hotel in Bloomsbury include a new restaurant and a possible new luxury spa to be constructed around an old swimming pool which has just been ‘discovered’ at the hotel.
A £7million investment is planned for Jurys Bristol Hotel. The large ground floor meeting rooms start their refurbishment in August with completion in September. At the same time, the smaller first floor meeting rooms are being reformatted to create a more user-friendly space with natural daylight.
The overall aim is to transform the London hotels into three individual and stylish 5-star standard properties. Bristol will become a four star deluxe property. A branding decision is expected in the autumn, together with final development plans.
