The Lygon Arms - the refurbishment
The Lygon Arms, one of the most celebrated hotels in England and now a Paramount Signature Hotel, has embarked on a multi-million pound restoration programme. Original features such as the timber and flagstone floors, wood panelling, architraves, dados and all stone mullions will be retained and renovated. The first phase is now complete with the entire redesign of twelve Garden bedrooms, a new reception area and the renovation of The Great Hall restaurant.
The next phase of renovations will include the opening of a Parisienne style Café and the transformation of the Russell Room into a sophisticated bar area, as well as the renovation of all public areas including the Inglenook, Gallery, Gin and Small dining room. The bedrooms within the Orchard Wing will also be renovated.
The project is due for completion summer 2007. When complete, the hotel will offer 76 fully redesigned bedrooms and eight meeting rooms for up to 80 delegates and extensive spa leisure facilities.
