Two new hotels planned in Scotland
A new 160-bedroom Crowne Plaza hotel is planned for the centre of Edinburgh. Subject to planning approval, the new hotel will be part of a major development on the former Morrison Street Goods Yard in Haymarket, the financial centre of Edinburgh. Completion date is unlikely to be before 2012.

Meanwhile in Glasgow, Scotland-based Forrest Developments are planning a new £40 million, 150-bedroom hotel near the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in the city. The hotel, again subject to planning approval, will be located on a 1.4 acre site overlooking the River Clyde at the junction of Lancefield Quay and Finnieston Street – formerly the RAC Roadside Services Centre. It is close to the planned 12,500-capacity Clyde Arena and a few minutes walk from Pacific Quay, the new home of BBC Scotland. The hotel will be adjacent to the terminus of the planned Clyde Fastlink - futuristic tram-style buses that will run along both banks of the Clyde. The new ‘Forrest’ Hotel will join the City Inn Glasgow, the Crowne Plaza Glasgow and the Campanile Glasgow on the SECC site.
