New Hotel to open in Derby
Finesse Hotels are investing £2million transforming a former police museum in Derby into a 38-bedroom four-star hotel - scheduled to open mid-2007. The Victorian building with a sweeping staircase and a stained glass window will be sympathetically converted. The former vaults will be opened, glazed and turned into a wine cellar. The new hotel will include a 120-cover brasserie restaurant and four conference rooms. The Derby Police Museum is located at St Mary's Gate in the city.

Finesse Hotels operate three Midland-based hotels at the moment including the boutique-styled Lace Market Hotel in Nottingham, which the Derby Museum property will most closely resemble, the Donington Manor in Castle Donington and the Lion Hotel in Belper, Derbyshire.
