Barbican's new look
Following 7 years of major refurbishment costing over £35million, the Barbican now has a completely new look. The final phase is the recently completed redevelopment of its foyers and public spaces - just in time for its 25th birthday which it celebrates on 3rd March.

The Barbican’s entrances have been remodelled and the one on Silk Street now features a new piece of public art. New routes have been created through the foyers to improve orientation and navigation. New bars, cafes, signage, cloakrooms, furniture, multimedia screens and lighting have all helped to open out the space.

The Barbican Centre occupies a seven acre site in the heart of the City of London and is Europe’s largest arts/conference centre. As well as its main hall and two theatres, the site also includes three cinemas, seating respectively 280, 255 and 153 people; seven conference suites – all air-conditioned with natural daylight; two trade exhibition halls; three restaurants; private function rooms and a lakeside terrace and a roof-top tropical conservatory.
