Plans for a new hotel in Wiltshire
Plans have been submitted to build a four-star hotel and spa in the grounds of the Bowood Estate in Wiltshire. The Estate, designed and sculpted by ‘Capability’ Brown in the 18th century, includes Bowood Golf and Country Club, a championship golf course with meeting and banqueting facilities. The new hotel, alongside the country club, will feature 37 bedrooms and six suites, a fine–dining restaurant, bar and lounge. Leisure will include a swimming pool, gymnasium and spa. Work on the hotel could start this summer with a possible opening in the autumn of 2008.

Bowood, at Derry Hill off the A342 between Chippenham and Devizes, is the family home of The Marquis and Marchioness of Lansdowne. It has been open to the public since 1975.
