Ramada hotel planned in Doncaster
Ramada Doncaster is a new 130-bedroom, 4 star hotel being developed on Chase
Park in Doncaster. The hotel will include a restaurant, bar and conference facilities. Building work is expected to start in April with an opening planned for 2008.
Chase Park is a 200-acre greenfield development site located approximately 7 miles north west of Doncaster town centre, just off the A1(M) at junction 38. It is one of the largest development sites in the North of England and includes future new distribution centres for both B&Q and Asda.
The development of Robin Hood Airport, as well as major regeneration projects has highlighted Doncaster as a key strategic location. The announcement from Chase Park comes hot on the heels of two other new hotel schemes planned in Doncaster. Highfishergate is a new £12 million,122-bedroom hotel planned for the town centre. A stone's throw away from the Minster church, it will be the first hotel to be built in the town for 40 years. Whilst in December it was announced that Arena Leisure,
operators of Doncaster Racecourse, are in talks with the Millennium and Copthorne group to operate a new four star hotel at the Racecourse which will incorporate 120 bedrooms, a restaurant, bar and conference facilities. This is phase two of an ongoing major redevelopment of the racecourse, the first stage of which opens late 2007 and will include a new grandstand plus new conference and exhibition facilities.
Completion of both these hotels is also expected in 2008, pending planning permission.
