Future plans for De Vere Hotels unveiled.
Future plans for The De Vere Hotels Group have just been unveiled by new owners – the Alternative Hotel Group. These include switching some of the existing De Vere 4 star conference and resort properties into a new 5 star category - with a new name.

Verve Venues (the renamed Initial Style venues) will be rebranded again – this time as De Vere Venues. Some De Vere hotels will switch to this category. A full list of the hotels in each grouping has not been published yet.

The Village Hotel and Leisure Group which has recently been growing at the rate of two new properties a year will continue to expand, possibly up to as many as fifty throughout the UK.

An extensive refurbishment programme will concentrate on improving bedrooms and the food on offer throughout the group.

Another group to change ownership is Menzies. The sixteen hotel portfolio has been bought by property investors who will operate them under the Piccadilly Hotels flag. It is reported that the group has earmarked a further £180million to double the number of its hotels.
