Dhillon Hotels plan a major refurbishment of Birmingham’s Paragon Hotel
A major refurbishment is in the pipeline for the 250-bedroom Paragon Hotel in Birmingham following its acquisition by Dhillon Hotels. It will include a total overhaul of the bedrooms and public areas, plus the possible addition of a spa and leisure facility. The refurbishment is part of an overall plan that will include a 200-apartment development in the hotel’s car park. It is expected to take two years to complete.
The Paragon, a grade 2 listed building, is situated in Digbeth on Birmingham’s ‘Eastside’, an area full of potential and likened to that of New York’s Meat Packing district. It was a hostel for the homeless before its conversion into a hotel a few years ago
The other four hotels in the Dhillon Group are all in the south east – the Crown at Amersham, the Liongate at Hampton Court, Stoke Place at Stoke Poges and Ye Olde Bell at Hurley.
